MY WEBSITE HAS MOVED! Please visit the new website for First Principles Counseling, PLLC
My approach to therapy is guided by humility and respect for each person's unique experience and goals. I have particular interest and experience in working with survivors of trauma; people experiencing depression, anxiety, or borderline personality disorder; and young adults facing challenges in the transition to adulthood.
I provide a place of acceptance, warmth, and safety, where you can share your story and feel understood. I believe that when people feel accepted and understood, they can engage in self-reflection and move toward their goals. I integrate humanistic and cognitive-behavioral approaches to support you in your journey.
I obtained my BA in Psychology from Harvard University in 2011 and my PsyD in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2017. I have been independently licensed as a clinical psychologist since 2020. I have worked in inpatient, college counseling, community mental health, and private practice settings.
In addition to my private practice, I work as a Center Mental Health Consultant (CMHC) at Joliet Job Corps Center. As a CMHC, I help to meet the mental health needs of Joliet Job Corps students by providing consultation, outreach, short-term therapy, and referral services. In addition, I occasionally teach future psychologists as an adjunct faculty member of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
When I'm not at work, I enjoy reading, cooking, playing video games (mostly old RPGs), and spending time with my husband and stepson.
